Is there any failure to plastic tanks?

Why is Liland doing this?

  • Plastic or fiberglass is not biodegradable, especially when the gas mixes with plastic. Currently, it cannot be recycled.
  • We have found that the lock and ring area is still made of metal. This metal will rust out and will not lock the module in place. The only current option is to replace these tanks.
  • When replacing the bad fuel pump (module) in the tank, sometimes technicians will drop the tank and forget to unclamp components. When this occurs, the plastic outlet will crack or other components will be cracked or damaged.
  • We also find vibrations in the vehicles, especially diesel applications, eventually causing the hose connection to break off from actual unit.

LILAND IS INTRODUCING A FULL LINE OF STAINLESS STEEL FUEL TANKS.

Why is Liland doing this?

  • High concentration of ethanol that sits in the tank sometimes forms toxic acidic cloud that eats the internal fuel tanks and sending units.  Stainless steel will not rust internally.
  • Bio-Diesel and other mixtures of diesel are causing fuel tanks to prematurely internally rust a fuel tank, in less than 9 months in some cases.  This will not happen in stainless steel fuel tanks.

Liland strongly recommends our stainless steel fuel tanks rather than tin or galvanized steel in the market place. If you have internal rusting in your fuel system, you have to replace, fuel tanks, sending units, fuel injectors, lines, etc.  Some replacements could cost between $2000-$3000 per job. If you replace your tank with one of our stainless steel tanks, it solves most of the issues. You can sleep better knowing that steel is recyclable.  Plastic mixed with gasoline or diesel cannot be recycled.
